Hi Jon, You're saying the coating is "waxy." Meaning it isn't a clear acrylic or the like? And dissolves in something as innocuous as alcohol or naphtha? That is very heartening, relatively easy to deal with. Thanks. I like wood to be wood, and prefer to just rub it with 0000 wool or equivalent as a rule. Feels better, looks better, IMO. True for painted wood, too, for that matter.
