Hi, Jon and Colleagues -
 
The strips are stiff enough that they don't hang down and will not  interfere 
with movement of the action in and out, or via una corda.  And  BTW, if used 
in the recommended fashion they will extend from the front of the  balance 
rail, i.e., toward the front rail
