[CAUT] Baldwin sustain pedal return spring

I have mentioned this before but would be the problem with adding some key leads to the lever instead of a spring? I'm not saying it would be easier to do but...?

Hey, David,

I can’t speak for anyone else, but for me Baldwin parts was a pain in the backside before the bankruptcy. I would take some measurements from the trap lever and keybed and make a trip to Ace Hardware. If you have trouble with spring noise, you can always weave a strip of bushing cloth up one side of the spring.

Regards,
Ken Z.

I have a Baldwin SF grand...sorry, forgot to get serial number. The return spring from the bottom of the keybed to the lever directly above the sustain pedal rod is missing. Obviously I can make something work, but, is Baldwin parts still in existance? Quit laughing... I'm actually thinking about installing some key leads in the lever and it would do the same thing with no possible spring noise...
