[CAUT] nickel ferrules and casters

One of the ferrules was broken and someone welded it (years ago). It is seriously deformed, caster welded to it, etc., and needs to be replaced. I have someone to whom I send replating jobs, but am looking for ideas about where to look for replacements. Also, have you had the caster itself replated, Barbara? Do all the swivel and rolling functions work ok after?

I've taken casters, hinges, etc., in and had them replated. Look under <plating> in the yellow pages--or check with colleagues for suggestions for shops that do this kind of work. If the ferrules and casters are in good enough shape, it's nice to have them replated because...they fit!

  Good luck.

There is a M&H AA in the shop for refinishing, and it needs new leg ferrules and casters in nickel. Does anyone have any suggestions for finding nickel plated parts? All I can find in the supply catalogues is brass, and even they are not exactly the right size. I have toyed with the idea of getting those and having them nckel plated.

    Thanks.
