#1) How to tell if a piano needs tuning. Clarity of fifths and fourths and octaves vs. unisons. Chord structure (by sound) What a guitar tuning device can tell you. #2) What you can and can't set on a piano. What a pencil in the action sounds like or a paperclip on the soundboard can do to the sound. #3) What an action feels like when different adjustments are out. What is proper aftertouch or too much drop. The damper upstop rail afterthud. #4) Why hammers that are hard or worn produce undesirable sounds. #5) Words that describe different tonal aspects of a note that are most commonly used by technician.
