   Just To be clear, I did mean wash  it down away from the crown with 
acetone Not alchol or any other agent  reserved for hard pressed hammers.. Perhaps 
the advice to not use this technique  was given by skilled other practioners 
but I have utilized this method many  times to give more than subtle changes to 
the tone during voicing of a new set  of hammers. Experimentation is great 
teacher. AMHIK?
