It has 2 lid props because the stained glass (plastic?) in the top made
the lid unstable (AND, I'm sure, for artistic reasons :-). Anyway, I
spent a week on the beast this winter and when I'd raise the lid it felt
like it was "bending" a lot.

So, does it have two lid props just for the hell of it, or is there
something about the lid that requires two?  I can't remember what the
supports on the bottom side of the lid are called.  Do they light up or
are they just plexiglass with colored rods inside?

My 8 year old son would love it.  Speaking of, has anyone done a Lego
Steinway?
