You all know what I'm talking about...

(And now you'll be jealous.)

You're in a high school auditorium and 2 complete high school choruses have
just finished rehearsal and exit to go eat before the concert that night
(at a local greasy spoon, Paul) and it's your time to get to work.

You start tuning and small talk with the few that lagged behind for
whatever reason and then......

5 or so girls start "talking" about their dinner plans to 3 or so girls at
the END of the auditorium...

Let me tell you..I found out how one just got paid, how she'd also be able
to spot the one in the back that had no money, and how this mall would be
better to go to than that one, the cute guy who works there...

And it kept getting louder, and louDER, AND LOUDER.

They started sounding like a flock of crazed geese.
(Not a flock of seagulls.)

Well- I just flipped.
Honestly I don't know what came over me.

I pride myself on being able to tune in some nasty conditions that warrant
some serious concentration.. but this was............

Beyond nasty conditions to say the least.

I stopped tuning, and whistled like I was watching some sports and my guy
just scored. This glorious sound was followed be me "asking" if I could
*possibly* be able to continue my work in some sort of quiet.

You wouldn't believe how quickly the flock flew off.
(Though the second (visiting) chorus teacher saw the whole thing and said
nothing.)
