List: The following is a newly created, redefined full-time position available at the Interlochen Center for the Arts. Please email any questions privately to: vonwalthra@interlochen.org Rolf von Walthausen ------------------------------------------------------- POSITION: Resident Piano Technician, 12-month START DATE: June 1, 2003 RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintenance, tuning, regulation, voicing and repair of pianos used in concerts, teaching and practice. Supervision of, and guidance in hiring for, additional seasonal and contract technicians. Periodic assessment of inventory and long-range planning. Position will require working collaboratively with the Assistant to the Director of Music, piano faculty, and with visiting technicians on high-level projects in a learning, team-oriented environment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of recognized school of piano technology, or college graduate with course work and experience in piano technology. Bachelor of Music, general music background and previous work in an institutional setting highly desirable. Must be able to do stable tunings in demanding, high-use areas.
