Although I would like to be "salaried," I am not. I am paid $19.35 per hour. 
And from what I have been reading, that seems to be the norm, rather than the 
exception. Yes, it does seem like being an "hourly" employee seems like it is 
in the clerical category, I doubt very much any cleric gets paid $19.35 per 
hour. I think it is generally accepted that when someone makes close to $20 
per hour, plus benefits, that person is more in the "professional" category. 
I realize here are acceptions, but I don't think you're going to find too 
many "unprofessional" people getting paid in the $15 -- $20 range.
