If you haven't already, I think it is time for you to take the workload
formula, either my new one, or the one from CAUT, and show your administrator
the school needs two full time piano techs.

If they are refusing, I think you owe it to yourself to stop trying to do it
all. If you are getting paid to work 40 hours a week, then only work 40 hours
a week. If a piano doesn't get tune, so be it. The only way you're going to
be able to convince the administration you need help is to let the pianos not
get tuned. If you keep working the kind of hours you are, the administration
will never see a need for another technician. I know you love your work, and
so do I. But it is not right for the university to take advantage of that.
Even the most ardent professor is not going to take on more students the
guidelines recommend. And you shouldn't take on more pianos than the CAUT
formula recommends.
