Steinway parts vs. Renner argument

Hi All,

S&S NY sells Renner made parts for their pianos. The only
difference from what you get for Renner America is the
price. Same parts, same factory, same felts, same wood,
just S&S NY sells them for more money. NY made parts do, in
one word, such. You will spend three times more time
installing and traveling than Renner parts and getting them
to function properly.

In a learning environment I did, and do, prefer to use NY
made hammers because that is what the kids will find outside
the school. I do not like them, do not like their tone but
I used them anyway. Af for action parts and shanks I
preferred Renner because I had to spend a lot less time
bringing the action back to the piano thereby getting it
back working much sooner.

I once bought a set of NY S&S shanks and still regret that
decision. They were and are awful, unstable, irregular,
horrible pinning, unstable regulation and pinning and
warping all over the place. The most costly pile of junk I
have every had to work with.

You have my permission to show this to whom ever.

I will stand by by what I say because what was and is
important to me is providing the b est service for the kids
and to hell with stupid, indifferent, ignorant anal voids
that try to force me to do something totally counter to my
experience and knowledge. I did it my way and never looked
back except to that one set of NY shanks that ate much lunch
and my dinner for weeks on end. I should have just tossed
the whole set into the garbage, EVERYONE would have been
better off.

Just my pinion don't you know.

Regards,
