List,

I just got a call from a colleague in my chapter. It seems tat he just
received the report of fire extinguishers having bee discharged over the
weekend in a college music department that he services. He has not been on
site to examine the damage to 5 or 6 Yamahas of varying vintage and is not
sure of the chemical compound. I advised him to document everything, check
with the fire extinguisher company about a Material Safety Data Sheet for
the compound and discussed a number of the points to check upon inspection.
He asked me to post this query to the list in hopes of tapping into the vast
amount of knowledge available from our esteemed peers.

Feel free to give me thoughts or reminiscences and I will forward them to
him.

Hoping to see many of you in Raleigh for the North Carolina Regional
Conference this weekend.

Also, don't forget to keep an eye for the new information coming out
regularly on the Institute website (notice the new URL below.)

Thanks,

Allan
