Concert grand carriage

Hi Eric:

There is a very easy fix for these kinds of piano carriages. Do you know
what a violin tone post is? Anyway, if you tightly fit a 2X4 vertically
between the center piece of the truck and one of the beams of the piano,
you can hold down the middle of the truck from rising, the casters will
caster properly and there will be less bounce to the ounce. Here is where
you need to carefully consider the old carpenter's quote: "I've cut this
board twice, and it's still too short." If the board is too short the first
time, use double wedges opposing each other at the bottom of the 2X4, drive
them together until you make the truck level. Then cut a new 2X4 to the
indicated length, paint it black and you are in business.
