Terry..

Please feel free to share anything about the whole process of putting 
this together for me.  Including any of the discussions we had about the 
thing.  There will be a sound sample of this piano before too long.  
It's taking me forever to get the thing completely done... largely 
because I'm going it alone... having decided in the end the learning 
potential is greater then relying on the kind of outside help I could 
actually get from my distant location here in the north.

    Good observation, and good guess on ribs! You are largely correct on
    both counts. This is an old 1850s Bluthner. Nothing modern about it!
