It seems that one must dry the circles flat and weighted. Upon evaluation, this morning, of the circle drying by leaning...it curled. It would appear that drying an ivory head in this manner provides enough support to the grain to prevent curling, while the circle is only supported at two points (12 and 6 o'clock) therefore allowing the unsupported grain to cause curling.
