Uprights yes with left arm you would be pushing with hammer in 11 to 12 oclock position, but with a grand you simply do not need to push using your left arm,place the hammer in the 3 to 5 oclock position and pull,as long as you clear the stretcher your good.The last octave you may need to push same as an upright or change your tip or hammer to clear the stretcher.

As a lefty, I should give this a try with the dominant hand, rather than my right. Though I used to try and tune grands lefty, but found pushing against the front of the hole increased the torque or apparent torque and was too physically tiring. But then was then and now is now...I should give it another shot.
