Ah yes, another proud owner of a Beau Dahnker. “I played it and it sounds fine” which consists of pressing a few notes randomly here and there and actually hitting only the ones that happen to kinda work. I used to hope these calls would actually produce some sort of blessing on my bank account. Now days I don’t even get in the car for these calls. “There’ll be a service charge for my assessment of your piano” ............ “WHAT!!! I GOTTA PAY FOR DAT??” ........ “It’ll cost you more to dispose of it.” ........... “YOU’RE INSULTING ME!! I’M CALLING SOMEONE ELSE!!” ........... “It’s been a pleasure.” (click) I used to be desperate for the work. That was a previous lifetime ........ in a much colder climate. Lar There are any number of cases of people having pianos refinished without ever bothering to see if what's on the inside warrants a refinishing. I come across these not infrequently. "We just had out piano rebuilt (it was actually just refinished) and could you come and check it out, there are some notes that don't work". Turns out there's any number of strings and action parts missing or broken. Sure does look nice though. David Love -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
