     I never actually said it worked permanently --- that was the statement of the guy who said it did, if you blasted the stuff out after soaking it in naptha, by pointing the air gun straight into the centers from the side.
Like you, I've only had it (the brake part cleaner followed by CPL) work for a while. And only used it with customers too disinterested in their piano to pay for a job done right, and after telling them it's likely temporary. And, like you, have decided it is just not worth it to be working with such toxins. (And such "customers".)
