David Love said: "I know the schaff one, which, as I mentioned, I've never been able to get to work very well. So I'd like to see your new/improved German Loop maker with the modified vise grips. The picture that Ron posted was what I was originally looking for but if you want to post a picture of yours that would be appreciated." David, The reason you have problems with the Schaff one, is that it is a pirated copy of the one that Orville Milburn and I developed in the 80's. We sold 10 to Tuners Supply and then none, because they stole it and copied it. Then Apsco copied the copy. Then Schaff copied the copies! Along the way the instructions were left out or bastardized. No, I'm not going to start making the good ones again. Once burned is enough.<G> As for the German Loop Fixture, it is much the same as Ron Nossaman's, except I made mine out of a square block of wood, 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" x 1/2". I used the steel dowel w/a hole in it, just as someone else did. As for the "pin" to hold it all down, I used a grand flange screw. I'll post a picture of that and the Vice Grips this evening. I need to get out the door for a long distance client. (Long drive<G) Best, Joe Joe Garrett, R.P.T. Captain of the Tool Police Squares R I
