I hit an estate sale recently and scored a couple more socket chisels REALLY cheap. The one at the top is a Shark I bought years ago, and the only 1/4" I had up to now. The middle chisel is yet another 1/2", but it has a nice handle and for $1.50, I wasn't going to leave it there. No name, but it's well made, and seems to be of good quality. The long 1/4" is a Stanley, and had a nasty handle on it (bottom). I put a more comfortable (if questionably less nasty) handle on and sharpened it up. This is probably the worst finished chisel I've ever owned. The front isn't even ground parallel with the back, and it's not the quality steel of the anonymous 1/2" chisel, but I finally have a long wanted super long 1/4" paring chisel. A kit, actually. I'll be thinning the blade down a bit and making the front parallel to the back because it offends me the way it is. Further adventures in the world of tool treasure hunting. Not earth shaking, but excellent therapy. Ron N -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
