You can plate them but as I mentioned but the bearings are loose and
rattling (that's part of the reason we're changing them to new) and nickel
plating them won't solve that problem and could make it worse on the ones
that aren't rattling.  It's a sealed system so injecting grease is not
possible unless someone has a method.

Ron O has been electroless nickel plating agraffes and counter bearing bars
for some time, to good effect. I don't know why it wouldn't work with
casters too.
