Did you play it, feel it, listen to it, examine it? Unless one is willing to remove the blinders of this is a good brand, that is a bad one, blah blah blah, then one is likely to miss out on some real gems. Do your own personal evaluation, check it out, look at the construction, materials used, fit and finish. Listen to the sustain, the musicality. Judge the responsiveness of the action. My final criteria: is this a fun piano to play? As I recall, the Pramberger had some minor but significant design differences. One could hear and feel the difference in a side by side comparison. But my opinion is that most of the Young Chang pianos are real sleepers. They are well made and designed but the action is poorly set up. Hammers are too heavy and too much lead in the keys. If one invests a little time in regulation/voicing they make outstanding pianos. I just found and set up a 30 year old G175 in pristine condition for a client and it is an amazing piano. I have another client with a PG185 and it is one of the sweetest pianos in my client base. My research online indicates that the PG-185 was designed by Pramberger, and therefore must be a 1995 or later model. However, another tech dated this piano with serial #G054761 as a 1990. Furthermore, is this model significantly better than the G series? Is this a good piano? I know someone who may want to buy it, but it's in another city 3hours away so I don't want to just hop over there just yet. Thanks, No virus found in this message.
