One thing you should definitely do is connect your airport to the internet
and make sure it has the latest firmware version operating. You'll have to
load the utility that came with it onto your laptop. You can either connect
the airport to your home wifi or hardwire with network cable.

You need to make sure you can get it connected to your wifi and play music
through your wifi to the airport. I tried my first set up in the customer's
home and it did not go well, so then I practiced at home to get it figured
out. It does not have to be connected to the home wifi if you use a
dedicated device solely for the PD. You can just connect directly to the
airport in such a case. But most people will want to use the iPad, laptop or
whatever to surf the net as well as play the PD. In that case it will need
to access the airport through the wifi.

Subject: [pianotech] PianoDisc Help Needed

Hello,

After 6 days in beautiful Sacramento and a grueling class, ugh, I and my
employee have installed our first PD IQ Airport Express. All is well with
the hardware. If we do a solenoid test and calibration for keys and pedal
the solenoids fire and the keyboard plays. If we play a file from PD with
music and piano or just a piano solo the piano will NOT play. I am using my
personal iPad which has music given to me from PD which was on a CD that I
installed into my laptop through iTunes and then synced to my iPad. No
problem there. If I use the sound output from my iPad when playing a file I
hear the data being streamed through the speaker whether it is a solo piano
piece or a piece with background music. When I switch to the IQ I get
background but no piano.

Can anyone suggest something I might have left out of the install between IQ
and airport express? or:

Would the files sent on the CD be ready to go for my system or would they
have to be run through another program i.e. Musiconnect2 to prep them for
the system? Hard for me to think they would do that to me.

I have no extra cords except for a two cords that have the small transistor
style male ends with a female opening at the other and a male transistor
style end with the other end a red and white speaker style end.

If anyone can give suggestions it would be appreciated. The class was one
of the most painful experiences I and my partner have ever had. Took too
long, and all of the manuals they had are for older systems and we had to
keep writing in what the current systems were and then the CD's they sent
home with the "manuals and info" we were supposed to need barely touch on
the new IQ with Airport Express. Maybe the new system has run ahead of PD
ability to produce new install and user manuals.

Thanks,
