As the title says - just strictly an FYI on Win 8 .............not telling you want to do or not do !!!!! Who's ready to convert their laptop and/or desktop ? For those that have not kept up with the info: Windows 8 is dedicated to the tablets and touch screen. The "windows desktop" as you know it will be completely gone - no more Start button; no more Start menu; no more "windowing"; no more multi-monitors - looks just like an iPad, iPhone, etc. Based on the internet, so far, basically nothing from previous versions is compatible with Win 8 - so you will have to re-buy everything. Also, so far, from my readings, a lot of the underlying formats of the data files have changed and will - not - convert (Office, Outlook, etc). I have heard that there is a hidden switch the bring back a "sort of" Start button - but nothing like you are used to. If you have noticed the ads, they are all geared to the "younger" set that in some form, are already using some of the devices - and - no mention of the, traditional "business" users. For the serious users - businesses - they are really going to be screwed - from the surveys, a lot of them are just now, converting from Win XP to Win 7. Again, not telling you want to do or not do !!!!!
