Ric, Neither one actually Retards rust and I damned sure don't want them anywhere near a piano string! Granted they will lubricate, but they will not dispel moisture sufficiently to stop the rusting process, especially with salt water, imo.. Of course, that's just my opinion, which is based on a few flood damaged situations and lots of pianos with severe moisture problems..>G> Joe > [Original Message] > From: <richarducci at comcast.net> > To: joegarrett at earthlink.net <joegarrett at earthlink.net>; pianotech at ptg.org <pianotech at ptg.org> > Date: 11/8/2012 5:53:19 AM > Subject: Re: [pianotech] Flood damaged pianos > > Ballistol and crc3-36? > > Rick Ucci > Uccipiano.com > 609-677-0444 > > On Nov 7, 2012, at 5:28 PM, "Joseph Garrett" <joegarrett at earthlink.net> wrote: > > > Richard said: "If they had been rinsed and treated with anti rust agent > > that might not have been the case?" > > > > Richard, > > Ron N. asked and now I'll do the same...What is this magic elixir "...anti > > rust agent..." that you keep alluding to??!!!
