You're just getting that message now? I got it some months back and, since I was having problems with IE anyway I switched to Firefox. No more message, fewer crashes and generally smoother operation. ddf Delwin D Fandrich Piano Design & Fabrication 6939 Foothill Court SW, Olympia, Washington 98512 USA Phone 360.515.0119 - Cell 360.388.6525 <mailto:del at fandrichpiano.com> del at fandrichpiano.com - <mailto:ddfandrich at gmail.com> ddfandrich at gmail.com From: pianotech-bounces at ptg.org [mailto:pianotech-bounces at ptg.org] On Behalf Of paul bruesch Sent: Friday, November 02, 2012 7:04 AM To: pianotech at ptg.org Subject: Re: [pianotech] Gmail I received it in my gmail. There are lots more reasons to upgrade your browser. IE8 is very outdated. It's not standards-compliant, not at all secure. You don't have to use Chrome, but Chrome does have lots of nifty features. I like Chrome, and also Firefox. Gmail may still continue to work in IE8 even after Google quits supporting it, but there are changes afoot in gmail (which I'm very un-fond of) that may be the impetus for the warning you've received.
