I just heard a report on NPR about the shortage of nurses in hospitals. There is a shortage because, as one nurse said, there are too many patients, and the hospitals are not keeping up. The reason there are more patients is because of the new technology that is keeping people alive longer, even when their health is worse. So technology is working to keep people alive, but no matter how good the technology is, hands on, personal care is still needed to take care of the patients. Get the point?
