Hi Jack, your idea was a good one! Did you plan to produce and sell these items? Are you angry now that Renner sells them? Gregor

Hi Gregor, I was the one who came up with the damper timing gauge. Someone shamelessly took my idea and is now selling them. They were selling at the convention in Salt Lake City at the Renner booth. Jack Houweling From: pianotech-bounces at ptg.org [mailto:pianotech-bounces at ptg.org] On Behalf Of Gregor _

If you get the Journal, that gauge is featured in the January '09 TT&T column. Jack Houweling made it and handed it to me during the convention in Anaheim. I promptly forgot and later posted the picture and question.

Subject: [pianotech] upright dampers regulating gaugeLong time ago somebody posted in this list a photo of a regulating gauge. It was a transparent bar with magnets to fix on the strings. The thickness of that bar was that of the typical half blow of upright dampers. The original poster found that thing somewhere in his shop and could not remember where he got that from. That produced some funny answers ("you got that from me but forgot to pay the bill....").

Anyway, does anybody have that picture? Is it a gauge that is sold by a piano supply?
