Thank you friends!
The plate is still in the piano for my question.
Just wanted to scrub greasy stains(cooking grease/smoke?)that has
accumulated over the years.

Presuming the plate is being  re-bronzed I suggest Tsp and water and a
scrub brush. We do this out of the piano and out side.
 In side with no finish soap and water.
