Wes

It sounds like there might be some metal shavings of some sort on the strings at the bridge pins. Have you removed the action, or at least looked down in there with a flashlight?

Subject: [pianotech] High Pitched Zing in Acrosonic

The piano is a Baldwin Acrosonic with a high pitched "zing" in each note played from approx C6 through the next 8 or 10 notes. It sounds metal to metal...thin zing each time the notes are played. An attempt has been made to tighten all screws and check anything metal. It aomost sounds like a "dangling" caster, but the piano is on plush carpet. The piano has been moved away from the wall to check for possible vibration in nearby picture. Will try bushing cloth on the upper duplex tomorrow. Also, the high treble action bracket is loose on the keybed adjustment screw and will be tightened.
Any ideas as to what is going on???
