[pianotech] synchronized dampers

Yesterday, I was working on a 1986 Samick SG-185 that had been in storage on it's side for the last 9 months. Other than a few minor issues, I had a single set of synchronized dampers at G2-A#2. Play either note and both dampers would raise up simultaneously.

This is the part I like the most about this field -- being confronted with an unusual problem (at least for me in my limited experience) and exploring until I find the culprit, and then fixing it and restoring the piano to all of its capable glory! :-)

Regards,

Rob McCall
