With the last round of emails "Website update", I decided to go to the source, the maintainer, Andy, to try and find out more info. Between his emails and some thinking, I think, one of the reasons, is the platform the software ran on. Mailman ran under Linux, while HL runs under Windows. My thoughts are; (a) since Andy left, they don't want to maintain anything on Linux (b) they would have to find a replacement for Andy (who knows the Linux systems), (c) it's much easier to find support for Windows and associated software, (d) HL will probably NOT run under Linux. SO, bottom line, if my hunch is true (no one wants to support Linux), then this email list is destined to be screwed. The person who told you the move was made due to mods to Mailman has the facts wrong. But that doesn't mean there weren't good reasons to make changes. It just didn't have anything to do with modifications to Mailman. -andy -- Duaine Hechler Piano, Player Piano, Pump Organ Tuning, Servicing& Rebuilding Reed Organ Society Member Florissant, MO 63034 (314) 838-5587 dahechler at att.net www.hechlerpianoandorgan.com -- Home& Business user of Linux - 11 years
