OK OK maybe I came across too harsh on that reply but I have been jerked around a few times on this type of thing.
I was just expessing an opinion based on my experience . I suggested that Marshall take the time to give then a resource where they could help themselves and suggested a reseller because the major suppliers do not want to do business with someone wanting to buy 6' of piano wire.I took the time to send him a link to a retailer that sells wire in 10' lengths for just a few dollars.


   And where did I say being a nice guy is a waste of time?

  Gee whizz Tom, nice guy.  An alternative direction would be to help the person out and give (or sell) them whatever wire they need. I've done this many times - for windshields, cleaning carburetors, a loom, etc., etc. It can be kinda fun - you get to meet someone doing something different than what you do - and hey, maybe they have a piano - or know someone that does - or maybe they'll tell someone about their experience with you and they tell someone who has a piano - or whatever. Sometimes it's just kinda nice to be nice.


  How could meeting someone new, smiling, doing a good deed and just being an all 'round nice guy be a waste of time?

      Hi Everyone,
      I received an interesting e-mail today. To me it's a strange request.  This person wants to know if I have any piano wired that she can  use to make jewelry, a pin to be exact.  Is this a prank or is piano wire used for jewelry?  If it is, I can sell her a batch.  What gauge would she need if in fact this is something I have.  I'd give it to her I guess, but this stuff wil cost me if I have to buy a particular gauge again.  What would I sell it for if I did sel lher some? /Thanks
