I suggested retracting all the glides back until they don’t touch the keyframe and then starting from the middle and working outward. Balance rail first and then the front rail ....... I think.

Subject: Estonia concert grand keyframe glides

I am unfamiliar with the regulation of the keyframe glides in this Estonia concert grand. There are front rail glides in the key bed, sticking out really far, and not particularly user-friendly for sliding the action in-and-out. The balance rail glides are also out really far, but it seems like that must be correct, since the usual amount of keypin is sticking out of the top of the key mortise. Hardly any front rail punchings, though, which makes me wonder if this has been messed with and needs some regulation. Not a completely solid feel on hard blows, either. Anybody know the procedure for doing this from scratch?
