Yes a very significant bridge body. Not wider than is usual but.........
It was much taller on the ends than in the middle. The treble end must have been 45 mm or 50 mm tall. Don't recall for sure. A very beefy sounding 5 ft 6 inch piano. (another descriptive word for Jim ;)
and Lively too. The aggregate rib height of top and bottom ribs was about 24 mm.short cut-off bar.

That appears to be some massive bridge on that things. How tall is it?

Jim

Something like this then? 5ft 8 Julius Bauer. It is very intentionally double crowned... as its called. FWIW...this turned out to be a big sounding parlor sized piano. Trixs cousin bought it so I still get to visit. ;)

If memory serves there was a 15 mm crown along the belly rail. Click on the attachment for a better view

 David,
No we're not talking about the same thing.

   Viewed from the
front of the bellyrail, there is a crown, meaning the bellyrail bows
upwards forming a crown. In this small piano there is a full 11mm
difference between the height of the bellyrail at the center and the
height at the ends.

The same with the curved side and on this one, the back of the long side
as well. If you could see through the outer rim to the top surface of
the inner rim, these portions also are somewhat serpentine. They, are
not in a flat plane, helping to create what has been referred to as the"
the most important crown in the piano", ie the "crown along the length
of the long bridge.

I don't agree with this obviously shaping, but that's the condition I'm
referring to.
