Well, I do have a Papp's mute (somewhere). I've fiddled with it and never
really figured out what the heck to do with it that provided any apparent
advantage over rubber mutes. I know many recommend its use on birdcage
pianos - haven't run across one of those in a while :-).  But sure, I'm
curious - always try to keep my eyes open for a better way - where do I
find more info on "Blind Tuner Techniques"?
