"Funny" wasn't the word that first came to mind, but yes. There seems to be some weird divining rod sort of intuitive mystical "knowing" that displaces observation, logic, and physical reality. I've been told dozens of times that science is faith based by people in the process of grilling me for infinite scientific detail which NO ONE has, on something they don't "believe" in the first place, and never will because they don't feel it. No contradiction there. Personally, I believe everything that can possibly be wrong with a piano originates in the casters. > One hopes there are not too many Doctors who work like the WD40 guys. Hope is a wonderful thing - it's intuitive. The WD-40 guys just need a computerized expert system to do the diagnosis, like the doctors. Punch in the symptoms (ignoring what doesn't fit), choose from the resulting prioritized diagnoses, cross check that the treatment is on the malpractice insurance approved procedures list, and go for it. > I suppose on the same general principle, if the piano was making > something in the room rattle or resonate, the WD40 guy would just spray > the whole entire room, walls, floor, and ceiling. Oh no, they're specialists, experts even, and only work on pianos. Must need breakfast... Ron N
