[pianotech] Bass string discoloration

Oxidation of the copper.  If it's only a couple of spots you can try taking
a soft bristle brass brush and pull up the string gently with your fingers
(normally gloves recommended) and brushing gently in the direction of the
windings.  It's just on the surface.  Whether when you are done the color of
the copper will match the rest of the string is a different matter.
