Wow! You would spend all that time looking in the junkyard and then more time with the installation? I had one replaced last week by a professional windshield shop. It cost me $169 in San Jose, Calif, and I was in and out of there in exactly one hour. They did a great job. > Tom Gorley > Registered Piano Technician > On Nov 8, 2011, at 6:50 AM, Dean May wrote: > My experience is that kind of coverage makes you an extravagant consumer and is the same reason our health care system is a mess. For a $1500 vehicle I would not spend $500 on a new windshield. I’d get one from the salvage yard for less than $50 and find an installer who moonlights and would install it for $40. And I still save money compared to what extended insurance coverage costs. I’ve saved thousands in the years I’ve been driving following this rationale. YMMV. > > Dean > > Dean W May (812) 235-5272 voice and text > > PianoRebuilders.com (888) DEAN-MAY > > Terre Haute IN 47802 Give us a LIKE on Facebook! Comprehensive is a good thing to have. Example: I recently paid $50 (deductible) for a $500 windshield. > > > TODD PIANO WORKS > Matthew Todd, Piano Technician > (979) 248-9578 > http://www.toddpianoworks.com > > -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
