[pianotech] Piano Info

This is an old sticker action piano from circa 1850. The action is the one shown on the far right of the picture taken from my latest book on real life actions!



There are no tapes or checks . No such things as centre pins and flanges in those days; all parts were attached with leather and vellum hinges. The hopper (jack in today's terminology) was attached to the key. We would still classify this as a bichord piano. Judging from the pinblock, this has a wooden frame. Don't even bother trying to raise it to concert pitch. Absolutely no value other than semi-mental purposes. James Curle would be the name of the shop that sold it, not the maker.
