Hi, Marshall: I don't know about Sojin, but Samicks used to have a system where you would open the lid and push down on a lever to lower the bar. And I think Kawai had a manual system similar to a cabinet door latch. There was no pedal connected to it. Is there any hardware attached to the bar? Spring? Evidence that some hardware may be missing that once connected it? Is the practice bar original, or maybe somebody retrofitted it? It was not connected to a rod which would normally connect to a middle pedal assembly because this piano only had a soft pedal and a sustain pedal. I left the rail out because I was concerned that it might get in the way later on. This occured at a church where I tune on a regular basis. Have any of you come across this, a practice pedal without the practice pedal hardware to connect it?
