I'm working on a 4' 8" Pearl River. F#3 and G#3 seem to dampen the fundamental and lower partials well. For each of these notes the 5th partial rings with many seconds of sustain after the damper falls. Interestingly, it is the right string in each of these that is sounding the 5th partial so clearly. These are split dampers. I don't know if this is a "damper problem", or if I'm looking at something else. Other notes in the section dampen well. Any suggestions would be appreciated! -- Duane McGuire 801-830-5858 http://www.mcguirepiano.com
