In an action where mold is growing on hammers, I would imagine that mold is prone to grow almost anywhere on the action. Thermal fogging with an agent that kills mold makes even more sense. I don't know if David Swartz has a fogging solution, but I do think he has a product to address mold. -John Parham > -------- Original Message -------- > Subject: [pianotech] Mouldy Hammers<G> was Hammer mold not mould > From: "Joseph Garrett" <joegarrett at earthlink.net> > Date: Tue, February 22, 2011 5:16 pm > To: "pianotech" <pianotech at ptg.org> > > > Those were definately in a high humidity situation. I'd be caustious about checking the rest the piano. I suspect that stuff is throughout. As or getting rid of it, you need to contact the Fire Preservation Guys, because it's in the same league, IMO (David Schwartz comes to mind.
