[pianotech] Is this the work of an RPT?

As to the work being performed, I've already answered that, w/ the customer's confirmation, and more detailed info on my part.

"There will always be bad work out there;" Agreed

" just make sure you are not the one doing it," Agreed, I've been to 5 Conventions in the past 10 years, been to the Little Red Schoolhouse, am working w/ several top end Piano Technicians in the area, and have been the StL Chapter Newsletter editor for the past couple of years. I am always trying to improve. If I can't do a job to the highest level, I'll outsource it to someone much better.

"and leave it at that." No I won't... just like the PTG agreed that the previous testing for Craftsman was incomplete and instituted a better test, which PTG has continued to improve. Are you willing to leave people out there w/ the RPT label & web-promoting who could not even pass the limited RPT test of today?

Respectfully, Bill

Unless you watched the work in question while it was being performed, you don't know for certain who is responsible.

<snip>

Take advantage of the continuing education that PTG offers in order to better service your own customers. There will always be bad work out there; just make sure you are not the one doing it, and leave it at that.
