Lance, Could be a stencil piano. After awhile you can spot some clues. Wurlie type fallboards, Metal screw on name plates above the tuning pins Aeolian : stickers on the top of the block "Made in America by American craftsmen" Everett, Story and Clark, and others made stencil pianos and if you ain't seen the name before it's likely a stencil Look for a casting date on the plate near the pedals usually next to the name Kelly or Wickham , or a penciled date on the # 1 key or if you are unfortunate and have to remove the action there is sometimes a date penciled on the end of the action rail Tom D. ----- Original Message ----- From: 88man at netscape.com To: pianotech at ptg.org Sent: Wednesday, August 17, 2011 6:13 PM Subject: [pianotech] Werlein's spinet Had a chance to work on a Werlein's spinet today.
