[pianotech] lid assist - best answer

Hi. I have also been curios about this product, so I stopped by the distributor's place a few weeks ago. It is a dealer/technician just a few towns south of here, about 40 minutes. Unfortunately I could not get an installation demonstration or detailed instruction sheet. Also the markup for technicians is not very good. Nevertheless, I may order a couple anyway for a customer with a very heavy lid on his old Steinway, and he with a very bad back.

I think the answer by George F. (Frank) Emerson was the best yet.

Oh yes, and please DO give your local piano movers a warning, as Frank suggests.
