Alan Eder was kind enough to point out a couple of typos on this piece and in the process of reading through again I found a couple more things that needed attention. Mostly minor things. Apologies. These things tend to get written quickly and I have even less patience for proof reading. I've included the corrected version here with the corrections in red so you can spot them easily. One other comment. I mention using a set of Steinway or Ronsen Bacon felt hammers as a practice set. I've been made aware that the most recent version of the Ronsen Bacon hammer is somewhat firmer than it was before and requires little (some say none) lacquer. I have found for those not interested in using Steinway hammers for whatever reason (myself included) that the Ronsen Bacon Felt hammer has been a very good substitute with very similar consistency and tone quality. If the current iteration is much firmer then one would have to adjust the strength of the solution accordingly. It's my intention to purchase a set and see. Thanks for the kind remarks all.
