Right.  Especially if you buy 4 winter tires!  I do that with my Caddy.  It
makes a world of difference.

Getting off-track a bit from the other thread - I'm amazed what the new
winter tires do for regular cars. 
We got rid of my wife's 4x4 last year, but got a set of Bridgestone Blizzaks
for her New Beetle.  This was 
after reading about the tests comparing the traction between 4 wheel drive
with all weather tires and 
dedicated winter tires.  Winter tires win in all areas except hill climbing.
While my Scion Xb was sledding
around the snowy streets, I could barely get a slide out of her car!  (If I
didn't enjoy sliding around, I would
probably get a set for myself!)
