[pianotech] Weight question

I should think that indeed it is the added plate mass at the treble.  
The bass pinblock area is reletively small and the rest of the plate  
is just a couple of struts. In the treble you have a much larger area  
of pinblock area web and the massive hitch pin region of the plate.
